If you are considering taking SCUBA lessons in New York City beware. Some dive shops want you to believe that they are offering PADI quality training or that you can use a "Universal Referral" at any PADI dive center or resort worldwide, do not ruin your upcoming vacation. Below we have listed links to the PADI website explaining their position on the "universal referrals" and special notices about both Instructors and a Dive Center in New York who have misrepresented themselves as PADI certified.
