Adventure Scuba has its full Open Water Dive Weekends for 2012 on our calendar now ! The next one is scheduled for May 26th and 27th. at Dutch Springs in PA. This is your opportunity to complete the required 4 check-out dives in local waters. If you have taken the Open Water course and not completed your training you have only 12 months from your course completion date. Space is limited so check the referral form in your log book and contact us to reserve your spot today or call us at 212-876-3483. Rescue Diver Course

May 17th and 19th. are the dates for our upcoming Rescue Diver course. Rescue Diver is perhaps the most rewarding course PADI offers because it teaches the student to look beyond themself, helping others in many different situations. Emergency First Response is a prerequiste for Rescue Diver and must have been completed within the last 2 years. Tuition for the Rescue Diver course is only $300.00 and does not include required course materials. Reservations are available on line or you can always call us for more information at 212-876-3483.

Emergency First Response May 16h

Emergency First Response, or EFR, is a course available to anyone interested in helping in an emergency. You will learn the proper techniques for 1-person CPR as well as basic first aid skills. We cover both Adult CPR & First Aid as well as AED usage. This one night program is nationally recognized, and is a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course. Price includes course material and DVD rental.

Learn to Dive DRY !!!

Adventure Scuba is offering a Dry Suit Specialty course on May 17th and 19th. Dry suit use allow you to extend your dive season from April well into December. With the use of a Dry suit you can dive longer and more comfortably. Participation in the Dry suit course covers the following...

Don and doff techniques specific to your dry suit

Dry suit buoyancy control skills

Dry suit maintenance and storage

Undergarment (fleece or overall-type garments worn under the dry suit) options

The PADI Dry Suit Diver certification credits toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

Too many people think that learning to dive takes way too much time and requires endless nights of classroom lectures and pool training sessions. Nothing could be further from the truth. In today’s society value is placed on effective use of time and here at Adventure Scuba we offer the PADI Open Water Diver Scuba training to meet that demand. With a home study program or the new Online Academics program from PADI, you can complete the training for PADI’S Open Water Diver program is either 3 weeknights or 1 weekend day. It’s as easy as 1,2,3.

1. Check out our calendar and select your Scuba lessons dates, either 3 weeknights, (one Academic Review Session & Two Pool Training Sessions) or One Saturday (from 10:00am to 8pm). Make sure you are available because once lessons are booked pool time is reserved and fees will apply to any changes. Then call us at 212-876-3483 to hold your selected date (s). Once you are registered you need to stop by our location at 1737 York Avenue and purchase the PADI course material you will need to prepare before your lesson. If you choose to complete the Academic requirements online you can start 24 hours a day 7 days a week. When you do come to the shop you can browse the selection of personal gear available from Adventure Scuba for your upcoming open water dive class.

2. Complete the required reading and view the multimedia presentations required of all students. Complete the knowledge reviews at the ends of all five chapters in the PADI Open Water Diver Manual and you are ready to come in to take your first class the Academic Review Session. 3. Come in on your chosen date(s). When you come in our instructor will review with you the work you completed at home and administer the required PADI quizzes and final exam required of all students. For those completing the Academics Online a short review exam must be taken. Once this is complete you can attend your Pool Training Sessions where you will participate in the required confined water dives for certification. This is where you will learn the skills required to be a safe, confident diver. All training is under the direct supervision of your PADI instructor and individualized attention insures your success.

All of the required pool and classroom training for recreational PADI Scuba certification can be completed in as little as one week, if you are able to prepare the knowledge reviews and attend the required classes with Adventure Scuba. Our newest Instructor !

Ray found himself addicted to diving as soon as he strided into his first open water dive.
Since then he has tried to go on a diving trip every three months or so mainly to Caribbean destinations

He enjoys taking lots of underwater photo and having fun with photoshop once he is back home.
Ray loves to teach new divers, we always hear him saying "can't wait sharing how scuba is fun!"
