Too many people think that learning to dive takes way too much time and requires endless nights of classroom lectures and pool training sessions. Nothing could be further from the truth. In today’s society value is placed on effective use of time and here at Adventure Scuba we offer the PADI Open Water Diver Scuba training to meet that demand. With a home study program or the new Online Academics program from PADI, you can complete the training for PADI’S Open Water Diver program is either 3 weeknights or 1 weekend day. It’s as easy as 1,2,3.1. Check out our calendar and select your Scuba lessons dates, either 3 weeknights, (one Academic Review Session & Two Pool Training Sessions) or One Saturday (from 10:00am to 8pm). Make sure you are available because once lessons are booked pool time is reserved and fees will apply to any changes. Then call us at 212-876-3483 to hold your selected date (s). Once you are registered you need to stop by our location at 1737 York Avenue and purchase the PADI course material you will need to prepare before your lesson. If you choose to complete the Academic requirements online you can start 24 hours a day 7 days a week. When you do come to the shop you can browse the selection of personal gear available from Adventure Scuba for your upcoming open water dive class. 2. Complete the required reading and view the multimedia presentations required of all students. Complete the knowledge reviews at the ends of all five chapters in the PADI Open Water Diver Manual and you are ready to come in to take your first class the Academic Review Session. When you come in our instructor will review with you the work you completed at home and administer the required PADI quizzes and final exam required of all students. For those completing the Academics Online a short review exam must be taken. Once this is complete you can attend your Pool Training Sessions where you will participate in the required confined water dives for certification. This is where you will learn the skills required to be a safe, confident diver. All training is under the direct supervision of your PADI instructor and individualized attention insures your success. It is that simple. All of the required pool and classroom training for recreational PADI Scuba certification can be completed in as little as one week, if you are able to prepare the knowledge reviews and attend the required classes with Adventure Scuba. Discover Scuba is the chance to "try before you buy" Scuba lesson. Our next Discover Scuba is scheduled for Tuesday night February 14th. Class meets at our shop location at 6:00pm and ends no later than 8:30 pm. Students need only to bring a bathing suit, towel and a lock to see what Scuba diving is all about. Class is open to anyone over the age of 10 and in good overall health. Cost is $60.00 per person and reservations are required. If you are thinking about taking Scuba lessons you need to consider many things. Before deciding, ask yourself these questions. Who is offering the lessons? What are the cost involved in learning to Scuba dive? Where are the classroom and pool training sessions held? When are the classes offered? Why learn how to dive in Manhattan? Lets look at each of these. Who is Adventure Scuba? Adventure Scuba is a full service PADI 5 Star Dive Center and offers the Open Water Diver course training in a safe, fun and efficient home study format. What are the costs for training? There are three costs involved in training, Tuition, Course Material and Personal Gear. We can guide you through the process with a quick phone call to 212-876-3483 (DIVE). Where is the training held? Adventure Scuba uses the Aqua Center at Asphalt Green for all of our pool training. It is conveniently located across the street from our shop and classroom at 1737 York Avenue. (between 90-91st Streets) When is training offered. We have the use of the pool on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as on Saturdays to offer a number of training options, we offer group, semiprivate, private and weekend executive lessons. Open Dives are offered locally at Dutch Springs in PA. Emergency First Response, or EFR, is a course available to anyone interested in helping in an emergency. You will learn the proper techniques for 1-person CPR as well as basic first aid skills. We cover both Adult CPR & First Aid as well as AED usage. This one night program is nationally recognized, and is a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course. Ray found himself addicted to diving as soon as he strided into his first open water dive.
Since then he has tried to go on a diving trip every three months or so mainly to Caribbean destinations He enjoys taking lots of underwater photo and having fun with photoshop once he is back home.
