Store Holiday Schedule

Adventure Scuba will be open on Friday July 3rd from noon to 6 pm. We will then be closed Saturday July 4th in observance of Independance Day. We will re-open on Monday July 6 at Noon and resume our regular week schedule. Please plan accordingly if you need to purchase course material or personal gear for an upcoming class.
Discover Scuba

Discover Scuba is the chance to "try before you buy" Scuba lessons. Our next Discover Scuba is scheduled for July 23. Class meets at our shop location at 6:30pm and ends no later than 8:30 pm. Students need only to bring a bathing suit, towel and a lock to see what Scuba diving is all about. Class is open to anyone over the age of 10. Open Water Dives July 11 & 12

Adventure Scuba has its next Open Water Weekend of 2009 scheduled for July 11 & 12 at Dutch Springs in PA. This is the next opportunity of the season to complete the required 4 check-out dives in local waters. If you have taken the Open Water course and not completed your training you have only 12 months from your completion date. Space is limited so check the referral form in your log book and contact us to reserve your spot today.
Who, What, Where, When & Why of Lessons

If you are thinking about taking Scuba lessons you need to consider many things. Before deciding, ask yourself these questions.

Who is offering the lessons?
What are the cost involved in learning to Scuba dive?
Where are the classroom and pool training sessions held?
When are the classes offered?
Why learn how to dive in Manhattan?

Lets look at each of these. Who is Adventure Scuba? Adventure Scuba is a full service PADI 5 Star Dive Center and offers the Open Water Diver course training in a safe, fun and efficient home study format. What are the costs for training? There are three costs involved in training, Tuition, Course Material and Personal Gear. We can guide you through the process with a quick phone call to 212-876-DIVE(3483). Where is the training held? Adventure Scuba uses the Aqua Center at Asphalt Green for all of our pool training. It is conveniently located across the street from our shop and classroom at 1737 York Avenue. (between 90-91st Streets) When is training offered. We have the use of the pool on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as on Saturdays to offer a number of training options, we offer group, semiprivate, private and weekend executive lessons. And lastly Why learn to dive in Manhattan? The certification process requires classroom and then pool training followed by four open water dives. Open Dives are offered locally at Dutch Springs in PA. If you are planning to travel taking care of the classroom and pool training before your trip assures that your vacation remains just that, a vacation. Completing the training in Manhattan allows you to work at your own pace and complete the requirements in a fun, relaxed and stress-free atmosphere. Adventure awaits you call today.
Nitrox Course July 22 2009

We have scheduled a PADI Enriched Air/Nitrox course for Wednesday July 22 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Registration is now going on & space is limited. Nitrox is the most popular specialty and course is available to any Open Water Divers from any training agency. Home study is required and reservations are as well. Rescue Diver Course 2009

July 30, August 1 & 2 are the dates for our upcoming Rescue Diver course. Rescue Diver is perhaps the most rewarding course PADI offers because it teaches the student to look beyond themself, helping others in many different situations. Emergency First Response is a prerequiste for Rescue Diver and must have been completed within the last 2 years. Tuition for the Rescue Diver course is $275.00 and does not include required course materials. Students who take lessons with Adventure Scuba will be given the opportunity to introduce SCUBA to one friend or family member of their choosing. All students will be given a chip which can be redeemed for a FREE Discover Scuba class with us. Discover Scuba is a one night introduction to Scuba in a safe, relaxed setting. Students watch a short video and then experience Scuba in a shallow water pool under the direct supervision of our instructor. This is a $50.00 value Free for the students of Adventure Scuba. Emergency First Response July 29

Emergency First Response, or EFR, is a course available to anyone interested in helping in an emergency. You will learn the proper techniques for 1-person CPR as well as basic first aid skills. We cover both Adult and Child CPR as well as AED usage. This one night program is nationally recognized, and is a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver course. Price includes course material and DVD rental.
