Welcome to the Adventure Scuba web site. Here you will find all the information you need, if you are just starting in SCUBA or looking to become a PADI Instructor. You will find information about our class offerings for certification as a PADI Open Water Diver. If you are already certified we have all levels of training available. Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Divemaster and Instructor training are all being offered by us. Specialty training is also available with Dry Suit and Wreck Diver among the more popular. Open Water Dives September 11 & 12

Adventure Scuba has just added another Open Water Dive Weekend September 11 & 12 at Dutch Springs in PA. This is another opportunity to complete the required 4 check-out dives in local waters. If you have taken the Open Water course and not completed your training you have only 12 months from your completion date. Space is limited so check the referral form in your log book and contact us to reserve your spot today.

Too many people think that learning to dive takes way too much time and requires endless nights of classroom lectures and pool training sessions. Nothing could be further from the truth. In today’s society value is placed on effective use of time and here at Adventure Scuba we offer the PADI Open Water Diver Scuba training to meet that demand. With a home study program or the new Online Academics program from PADI, you can complete the training for PADI’S Open Water Diver program is either 3 weeknights or 1 weekend day. It’s as easy as 1,2,3.

1. Check out our calendar and select your Scuba lessons dates, either 3 weeknights, (one Academic Review Session & Two Pool Training Sessions) or One Saturday (from 10:00am to 8pm). Make sure you are available because once lessons are booked pool time is reserved and fees will apply to any changes. Then call us at 212-876-DIVE (3483) to hold your selected date (s). Once you are registered you need to stop by our location at 1737 York Avenue and purchase the PADI course material you will need to prepare before your lesson. If you choose to complete the Academic requirements online you can start 24 hours a day 7 days a week. When you do come to the shop you can browse the selection of personal gear available from Adventure Scuba for your upcoming open water dive class.

2. Complete the required reading and view the multimedia presentations required of all students. Complete the knowledge reviews at the ends of all five chapters in the PADI Open Water Diver Manual and you are ready to come in to take your first class the Academic Review Session. 3. Come in on your chosen date(s). When you come in our instructor will review with you the work you completed at home and administer the required PADI quizzes and final exam required of all students. For those completing the Academics Online a short review exam must be taken. Once this is complete you can attend your Pool Training Sessions where you will participate in the required confined water dives for certification. This is where you will learn the skills required to be a safe, confident diver. All training is under the direct supervision of your PADI instructor and individualized attention insures your success.

It is that simple. All of the required pool and classroom training for recreational PADI Scuba certification can be completed in as little as one week, if you are able to prepare the knowledge reviews and attend the required classes with Adventure Scuba. Upcoming Rescue Diver Course

September 23, 25 & 26. are the dates for our upcoming Rescue Diver course. Rescue Diver is perhaps the most rewarding course PADI offers because it teaches the student to look beyond themself, helping others in many different situations. Emergency First Response is a prerequiste for Rescue Diver and must have been completed within the last 2 years. Tuition for the Rescue Diver course is $275.00 and does not include required course materials. Advanced Open Water Weekend

Our next Advanced Open Water Weekend is scheduled for the weekend of September 18 & 19. Instructor

Almost with his first breath underwater John fell in love with diving, and later with teaching diving. As a diver, his passion is East Coast diving, whether it is the often challenging dives off NY, the warm water wrecks off North Carolina or the reefs of Key Largo.

After doing lots of diving and lots of learning, John became a PADI Instructor in 2007. He particularly enjoys helping nervous divers get comfortable in a new environment.
